Intensive Trauma Therapy

ONLINE ACROSS VERMONT, MARYLAND, & NEW YORK

Heal at a deeper level and on a quicker timeline.

Nothing you do seems to make a difference.

You’re likely here because you've been dealing with the same heavy feelings or memories for what feels like forever. Even after all the things you’ve tried, the lingering effects of a difficult relationship, traumatic event, or painful experience keep showing up.

Sometimes, when we’re dealing with trauma, regular therapy sessions just aren’t enough. That’s where an intensive comes in. If you're tired of talking in circles and ready to actually move through it, a trauma intensive could be exactly what you need to start feeling better, faster.

Trauma intensives may be a good fit for you if…

  • Weekly therapy might doesn’t fit into your hectic schedule, but you know there are things you want to work on.

  • You want to save time and money by getting to the heart of things quickly.

  • Talk therapy hasn’t been enough, and you’re ready for a different, more focused approach.

  • You have some time off coming up, and want to make the most of it.

  • You have a clear goal in mind and want to make real progress toward it.

  • You’re preparing for a life change, like becoming a parent, getting married, or starting a new job.

Think of this as a chance to finally push through what’s been holding you back.

A  trauma therapy intensive is a focused, deep-dive experience designed to help you move through “stuck” places and make real progress in a shorter amount of time. If you’ve been feeling like talk therapy or the pace of your weekly sessions just isn’t enough or you need to tackle a specific issue head-on, this could be the right approach for you.

We’ll work together closely, and I’ll guide you with a mix of personalized strategies and tools that fit your needs.

It’s not about rushing through your pain. It’s about getting to the root quickly and healing it for good.

1

Pre-Intensive Assessment

This session helps us establish a clear foundation for our work together.

We’ll take time to:

  • Discuss your personal history and the goals you hope to achieve during the intensive.

  • Identify any immediate concerns or challenges.

  • Introduce useful coping skills that you can apply immediately to your daily life and during the intensive.

2

Intensive
Session

When you're ready, we’ll schedule your trauma processing session, which will take place in one uninterrupted block of time.

Here’s what to expect during the intensive:

  • Therapy approaches tailored to you. No one-size-fits-all strategy.

  • Working at your pace, staying within what’s manageable for you. I will be there to guide you through the process to help prevent any triggers or retraumatization.

  • Healing without reliving the trauma.

3

Post-Intensive Follow-Up

After the intensive, many people feel a range of emotions, from tiredness to a renewed sense of empowerment. Here’s how we’ll move forward:

  • I recommend that you allow the rest of the day to relax and process the work you’ve done.

  • One week after your intensive, we’ll meet for a follow-up session. During this session, we’ll assess the progress you've made, reflect on any changes or new insights, and discuss next steps.

What you get

  • I believe in using the right tool for the job. I use a blend of therapy approaches that have been scientifically shown to heal trauma, such as EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

  • After your initial session, you will receive a personalized guidebook designed to help you prepare for the trauma work ahead. You will be asked to return the completed guidebook by a certain date so I can further tailor the intensive specifically to your needs.

  • One-size-fits-all doesn’t really work for anything, and certainly not therapy. Together, we’ll identify your unique goals. I’ll use a blend of therapy approaches that are best-suited to you to help you get there.

  • I am with you the entire way for guidance and support. If you have questions or need additional help between scheduled appointments, you’re always welcome to contact me.

A trauma intensive can help you…

Overcome challenges faster.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or dealing with the same issues for a long time, a trauma intensive can help you make significant progress in a shorter time.

This is more than talking things through. This is about truly addressing and healing the root of your trauma so you can move forward.

Heal at a deeper level than you have before.

Save time by tackling your struggles head-on.

Therapy doesn’t always have to be drawn out. Rather than going through long-term therapy without the results you’re hoping for, you can focus on specific goals and see meaningful changes more quickly.

Prepare for a major life change with confidence.

No matter what lies ahead, an intensive can help you feel more grounded and ready for both the expected and unexpected.

Do more than just cope—genuinely feel better.

Instead of masking the pain, you can learn how to process and move through it so you feel lighter, freer, and more in control.

Other intensive questions? I’ve got answers.

  • I use a blend of trauma-focused techniques like Brainspotting, EMDR, Parts Work, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help you process and heal in a way that feels comfortable and effective for you. These approaches allow us to get to the heart of your experiences, release stuck emotions, and help you make sense of your past, all while working at your pace.

  • To get the most out of your intensive, I recommend coming well-rested and fed, as it can be an emotionally and physically draining experience. You should also plan to have the rest of the day free so you can relax afterward. It’s a good idea to bring anything that will make you comfortable, like tissues, snacks, water, or a cozy blanket. I want you to feel as at ease as possible so we can focus on your healing without any distractions.

  • Yes! Even if you’ve never been to therapy before, trauma intensives can still be really helpful. Many people who are new to therapy appreciate the focused, time-efficient nature of intensives because they allow them to see progress quickly. We’ll take the time to talk about your background and goals, so everything is tailored to your unique needs. If you’ve never done therapy before, this is a great way to start and see what resonates with you.

  • Yes, for many people. There is research supporting that therapy intensives may be more effective in resolving symptoms and doing so quickly than weekly therapy.

  • Absolutely! Some people find that one intensive session is enough to make great strides, but others may need additional sessions, especially if they’ve experienced complex or multiple traumas. We can schedule intensives as needed, whether that’s a single 3-hour session or a series of them to tackle different issues. It’s all up to you and what you feel will help you the most.

  • Yes! As long as you have a good internet connection and a private place to meet, trauma intensives are just as effective online as in person. I have done many trauma intensives via telehealth with great results.
